It’s a place that a modern-day emperor and his entourage will appreciate. Set on the shores of historic West Lake amid willow trees and lotus ponds is an urban hotel in the traditional Jiang Nan style of the region: Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake. Inside awaits every modern convenience in a contemporary setting inspired by the colours, textures, tastes and traditions of China.

“After years of careful development, the excitement among our staff has reached a high point as we look forward to showing guests all that we have to offer in this historic and beautiful destination,” says Rudolf van Dijk, who as general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake leads a team of staff who are ready to anticipate guests’ every need and wish.

In celebration of the opening, Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake is offering a special Grand Opening package from October 6, 2010 through January 31, 2011. With each room booked with this package, a daily hotel credit of CNY 500.00 for up to two guests can be applied to dining or spa treatments.

At the forefront of the experience is Jin Sha, a high-style restaurant offering fresh and healthy interpretations of classic local, Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes. The reservation book is already filling up as the city’s business elite and savvy travellers look forward to celebrity chef Tony Lu’s menu, the sophisticated dining room and outdoor terrace overlooking the gardens and ponds, and eleven discreet private dining rooms.

The Spa welcomes guests to a modern, imperial-inspired world of pampering, soothing and revitalisation. Local ingredients and top international product lines are featured in a selection of spa treatments created exclusively for Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake, including the Dragon Well Tea and Jade Spring Ritual, featuring the region’s famed longjing (dragon well) tea.

Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake is the newest property in the company’s expanding Chinese portfolio, joining sister hotels in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macau, with ten others currently in development, including Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, set to open in 2011.
