This completely new Grande Complication makes the ML 128 calibre revolutionary. The exceptionally complex movement consists of 604 components, including several chronograph hearts. It was selected for the special Technology Prize – Editor’s Choice by UHREN MAGAZIN and FOCUS in Germany as part of the Goldene Unruh awards for 2008.

The senior editor of FOCUS and FOCUS Online, Uli Baur, and Thomas Wanka, senior editor of UHREN MAGAZIN, together honoured the winners of the Goldene Unruh 2008 awards (golden balance wheel) in a festive ceremony at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt, Germany, on 28 February 2008. The watch expert, Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, publisher of UHREN MAGAZIN, gave a witty and, at the same time, reverential commentary on the Mémoire 1, in which he conceded: “In this calibre, nothing is any longer the way it is supposed to be and taken as a whole, it is not easy to understand.”

The world’s largest watch awards selection process began in five prize categories with the October 2007 issue of UHREN MAGAZIN. The ten best ranked watches were then presented in FOCUS ONLINE in the five categories: under 1,000 euro, up to 5,000 euro, up to 10,000 euro, up to 25,000 euro, and over 25,000 euro. In the category up to 25,000 euro, Maurice Lacroix placed 7th with its Masterpiece Le Chronographe, which houses the ML 106-2 manufacture movement.
