In the new Elisia creations, exceptionally fine, brilliant diamonds replace the colored stones to become the principal ornament of each jewel. The elliptical designs – entirely pavé-set with diamonds and occasionally punctuated by larger stones – are realized as individual ovals or enclosed in a double frame. They harmonize differently with each other to create a versatile and complete collection, ranging from necklaces to earrings, bracelets and rings conceived to be worn in a variety of combinations, in spite of the rich materials and craftsmanship that go into making them.
A carefully studied balance of forms and designs characterizes the new Elisia necklaces. Perfectly harmonious, the accent of these jewels is focused on the central part, where double ellipse pendants are suspended. Along the chains brilliant cut diamonds of different sizes and circular pavé-set diamond roundels combine with oval openwork motifs, tracing patterns of varying form and complexity in support of the large pendants. The classic and discrete single strand necklace is composed by a balanced succession of elliptical elements, whose dimensions gradually decrease towards the edges. Individual oval motifs inserted in a soft, light structure also characterize the matching bracelet and earrings. In the precious double strand necklace, a sequence of double elements outlines an elegant festoon that enhances the décolleté, emphasizing the bold character of the jewel. The clean contours of the ellipse define the ring design, with extremely contemporary results. This can be seen both in the original and versatile band model – realized with a series of juxtaposed diamond pavé motifs, set off by small diamonds laid asymmetrically at the intersections of the ovals – and in the more traditional model, featuring a double ellipse setting that forms the central element of the ring. The double elliptical motif characterizes the matching earrings, where the pendants are hung from the earlobe with circular pavé-set diamond elements or a thin line of degradés diamonds. The collection is completed by two modern and feminine bracelets. In a model, the broad elliptical elements trace a horizontal pattern that gracefully adorns the wrist with the subtly curved contours of each component. In the more lavish version, the elaborate vertical mesh creates a broad band that wraps the arm, enhancing the fashionable and refined design.
The collection also includes a selection of High Jewellery pieces that have been conceived to interpret new, exclusive designs in white gold. One of the most important creations is a pendant necklace whose centerpiece is a large, pear shaped diamond of 5 carats set on a precious chain. The elliptical module is often embellished with individual stones, being repeated and harmoniously combined into a series of unique jewels according to a rhythm of solids and voids that create long, sinuous sautoirs, necklaces adorned with large pendants of multiple elliptical elements, earrings and rings in parure, and delicate brooches rendered in stylized natural forms. Meshes woven with oval motifs and diamonds of varying sizes and shapes compose playful, multi-strand bracelets and refined bangles. The necklace with a precious marquise diamond weighing more than 5 carats is the star of the collection. The stone is set against the pendant’s triple elliptical motif, featuring a combination of tapered and baguette cut diamonds that create an extremely contemporary effect.
The new Elisia with diamonds collection will be available at Bulgari stores starting from the second half of 2008.
