Irwin Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Genmar Holdings, Inc. shared his enthusiasm for Marquis brand yachts during the company’s annual celebration held the evening prior to the Miami International Boat Show.  With more than 450 invited guests in attendance, Jacobs unveiled two brand new Marquis’ and assured the audience that the company will continue its aggressive product development program. During the past 12 months Marquis Yachts has introduced a total of five new models.

Among the newly launched yachts was the Marquis 50 Sport Coupe which is the latest yacht created through the partnership of Italy’s prestigious Nuvolari-Lenard Naval Architects and Marquis, America’s foremost builder of premium quality yachts.

One of the Marquis 50 Sport Coupe’s most striking features is its sculpted exterior profile formed using Marquis’ unique 3-D multi-part hull and superstructure molding process.  This 3-D process not only contributes to the yacht’s aesthetic appeal but also provides superior strength.

Propulsion is provided by three Volvo Penta Diesel engines equipped with innovative IPS drives.  When equipped with Volvo IPS Series 600’s the 50 Sport Coupe exceeds a top speed of 37 knots (43 MPH).  The IPS joystick makes docking and maneuvering this 50′ yacht in tight quarters a snap.

Nuvolari-Lenard’s heritage of designing the world’s most innovative mega-yachts is obvious throughout the Marquis 50 Sport Coupe’s interior design and appointments.   The zebrano cabinetry, Brazilian cherry flooring and designer fixtures set this yacht apart from typical express style boats.

People who love being on the water will place high value on having the cockpit, salon, helm station and galley on the same level.  The yachts 13’3″ beam and 7′ of salon headroom provide a huge solarium-like environment.  With a push of a button you can move the transom lounge aft which expands the size of the cockpit even more.  Below deck is a master stateroom, two guest cabins and two head compartments each with its own enclosed stall shower.

Also unveiled was a Marquis 70 Tri-Deck Motor Yacht which is currently the largest yacht produced by Marquis.  The yacht’s upper deck and pilothouse provide an elevated, 360° view of the yacht’s surroundings.  The 70’s pilothouse is fully enclosed within a rigid glass and fiberglass structure.  The upper level is outfitted with a combination of inlaid planked teak and plush carpet flooring, salon quality furniture and handcrafted cabinetry including a fully equipped bar and entertainment center.

Within the yacht’s pilot house is a helm station that has been designed to accommodate Raymarine’s newest and most powerful array of G-Series navigation electronics with 17″ display screens.

The Marquis 70 Tri-Deck’s salon will likely be the place for more formal gatherings and evening dining.  An array of Italian Poltrona Frau® handmade leather furniture provides both stylish and comfortable seating.  The adjacent large gourmet galley and serving center is situated on the same floor level as the salon.

Three separate staterooms (a fourth stateroom is available) and three head compartments (all equipped with dedicated showers) are situated below decks.  The owner’s stateroom uses the yacht’s full beam to provide a true yacht grade living environment.  The cedar closet, vanity, double sinks, shower and tub make the master stateroom homelike and comfortable.

A unique feature on the Marquis 70 Tri-Deck is the cabin located off the yacht’s transom and swim platform.  This area can be configured as a 2-person crew quarters or as a stern cabin/day head -“Cabana” complete with changing room, its own full-size shower, head and sink.  This makes a very convenient spot for changing into and out of swim wear and as a storage area for water toys, fishing equipment or dive gear.  The Marquis 70 Tri-Deck on display is powered by twin MTU 1360 hp diesel engines.

Like all Marquis’, the new 50 Sport Coupe and the 70 Tri-Deck are built to CE-Class A specifications.
