Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest continuously operating watch manufacturer, launched two new timepieces from its Platinum Excellence Collection on November 13 at the XChange in New York City. The event honored Clive Davis for his achievement in the music industry as a Multi-Platinum selling Record Producer and Executive. Mr. Davis has had unparalleled success in his career, which began at CBS, led to his foundation of Arista Records, and continues today as Chairman and CEO of BMG. Clive introduced his newest protégé, Academy Award Winner Jennifer Hudson, who then gave a special performance. Jennifer pleased the crowd by singing four songs, including tracks from her new album. She even allowed a guest to appear on stage with her to sing her hit song from Dreamgirls, “One Night Only”.
Julien Tornare, President of Vacheron Constantin North America also welcomed A-list celebrity Kate Bosworth. Celebrity DJ, DJ Cassidy was spinning some of Clive’s artists’ biggest hits and entertaining the crowd, when Jennifer Hudson was not performing.
Guests throughout the evening viewed Vacheron Constantin’s newest platinum timepieces along with a collection of historical platinum timepieces, dating back to 1820, from the Vacheron Constantin Heritage Collection in Geneva, Switzerland. Models dressed in custom-made platinum dresses circulated in the crowd with Vacheron Constantin current collection timepieces, giving guests a chance to touch, feel and see the handcraftsmanship of each fine timepiece.
