Less than a month following the launching of its of its latest 43-metre maxi-yacht, CRN is enjoying another grand celebration. In a very private ceremony for the shipowner and his guests, the shipyard of the Ferretti Group has just launched “Romance”, an impressive 57-metre mega-yacht made of steel and aluminium.

CRN continues along its path of development and growth, with the launching of a 60m steel ship scheduled for late July, and the unveiling of the third 43m composite ship on the calendar for September. Confirming the major international success of the CNR shipyard is the production schedule for steel mega-yachts on order: filled through 2013, while composite-vessel production capacity is booked through 2011.

The stirring ceremony began with a heartfelt greeting from CRN President Lamberto Tacoli, who took the time to thank each of the staff members of the shipyard’s different departments, naming them one by one. “I want to thank the client company for having worked so closely with us in creating the ship – began President Tacoli – together with all the employees of the shipyard, at every level, who have worked for two years to arrive at the successful completion of this sophisticated project. They make for a strong, close-knit team: the heart and soul of our company”.

After the priest’s blessing and the traditional breaking of the bottle, the launch ceremony for “Romance” was topped off by the thrilling slide down the ramp. A touching moment, underlined by the notes of Giacomo Puccini’s celebrated aria “Turandot” and accompanied by rousing applause from the public.

The fully custom-made vessel, project number 122 for the shipyard, has a pool on its sundeck measuring 6 metres in length and 2.5 metres in width and equipped with an adjustable current mechanism that makes possible “treadmill” swimming.

The external lines were designed in a joint effort involving the CRN technical staff and the Zuccon International Project Firm, while the extremely sophisticated, complex interiors were arrived at through close give-and-take between the owner and the Design Department of the Ancona complex.

The regal atmosphere is the result of the variety of materials and decorative elements, all inspired exclusively by the magnificence of the Baroque style found throughout “Romance”: a genuine expression of the concept of unadulterated, awe-inspiring luxury.

Precious materials such as onyx, silk and gold are customised to create a stage-like effect of grandiosity and opulence. The complexity of the entire work is further reflected in the furniture, all of its custom-made:  in true seventeenth-century fashion, the one-of-a-kind, aristocratic forms are rendered even more stunning by inlays, lacquered decorations and gold appliqués.

An unmatched feature is the fully operative wood stove found in the large panoramic lounge on the upper deck.

With “Romance” CRN takes the idea of onboard wellbeing to an  even higher level. The ship has an area with a Turkish bath and aroma-therapy, a sauna made of scented fir, a massage room with a beauty shop and a fitness room:  nothing less than a beauty farm on the sea, with exclusive design features throughout the ship.

A total of 12 guests and 10 crew members can  be lodged on this mega-yacht, which is ready to set sail at a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14.
