The kitchen is based on frames of varying dimensions made from aluminum supports. This allows the kitchen to be designed individually. The cupboard elements can be positioned anywhere within the aluminum frame. This creates an expansive modular system of frames and carcasses with open spaces also deliberately built into the design. By using its signature material – aluminum – Porsche Design gives the kitchen an innovative, high-tech look. One of the kitchen’s particular highlights is that the cupboards can be opened without handles. All that is needed is a light touch for drawers and pull-out units to open seemingly on their own – thanks to perfectly functioning systems. The kitchen has both a high-tech audio / video system and multi-functional lighting systems which blend harmoniously into the overall clear-view concept.
Porsche Design Worldtimer P’6750
The P’6750 timepiece combines timeless and purist design with innovative technology – it displays the time in two different time zones simultaneously. A special module extends the movement of the watch by the addition of an intelligent world time function. The three hands in the centre of the watch display the time in the time zone in which the wearer currently finds himself. By means of disks rotating behind the dial, the movement additionally displays, via two dial apertures, a reference location and the present time in the corresponding time zone. When a change of time zone occurs, the time at the reference location can be transferred to the hands simply at the touch of a button.
Porsche Design Mobile Phone P’9521
The first mobile phone from Porsche Design distinguishes itself with its purist design and the use of high quality natural materials such as aluminum and mineral glass. The housing is milled from a single solid aluminum block – a unique production method for mobile phones. The fonts, design and colours of the menu underscore the highly functional character of this mobile phone. A two-way aluminum hinge permits the screen to be rotated about 180 degrees, allowing the phone also to be used as a digital camera. It features a sensor which can read finger prints and which ensures that the user can be uniquely identified. In October 2007, the mobile phone was voted “Product of the Year 2007” in the luxury mobile phone category by readers of the German “connect” magazine.
