In 2008, the collection will enter the realms of Haute-Horlogerie with a unique complication: the ChronoMaster Tourbillon El Primero Moonphase, offered in a limited edition only. The collection will be further enriched by the addition of another complication, the Chronomaster Open Grande Date.
ZENITH is launching a Grande Complication novelty, a unique combination of a Tourbillon, a Date Chronograph, and a day/night and moon phase indicator. A true technological revolution, the new El Primero 4034 movement comprises 353 parts and 35 rubies, and has a power reserve of over 50 hours. Technical prowess aside, the look of the watch harks back to the conventions of traditional watchmaking craftsmanship. The grain d’orge guilloché pattern on the dial, the wavy guilloché pattern on the counters and on the moon disk convey a touch of hand-crafted sophistication that is particularly elegant. Made entirely of solid gold, with a 45 mm case, dial, appliqués and hands, the ChronoMaster Tourbillon El Primero Moonphase is made for those who love beautiful objects and especially for Haute Horlogerie connoisseurs. These timepieces – classical in rose gold with a silver dial or modern in white gold with a black dial – will be available in a limited (25 pieces for each model) and 2008 millésime.
Playing shade against light, the extraordinary design of this watch perfectly illustrates the fusion of Tradition and Modernity. The cloisonné guilloche dial, appliqués and sword-shaped hands that sing the praises of the great classics, are transcended by resolutely modern touches. On the dial, subtly smoked cut-outs give a transparent effect, allowing a glimpse of the pearly plate beneath and the 3 patented discs of the Grande Date. Finally, the opening in the dial, so symbolic of the design, reveals the new complication, the El Primero 4039 movement, and shows us the mystery of time.
This timepiece is endowed with more than one radiant face. The rose gold cases offer silver dials whilst the stainless steel cases have either black or silver versions. They are available in two sizes, diameter XT –45 mm or T –40 mm, and are dressed with a new integral alligator strap to produce a more contemporary line with maximum comfort.
Having appropriated men’s watches with the « His watch for Her » concept last year, women will be seduced by the new Ladies line, which takes its inspiration straight from the world of the ChronoMaster.
This year, the ZENITH woman is dreaming of a star-filled sky thanks to the ChronoMaster Moon Phase with its very feminine and timeless design. The double godron case is smaller (37.5 mm in diameter) and adorned with diamonds whilst the dial wears its shimmering mother-of-pearl coat but keeps the same Roman numeral appliqués and grain d’orge guilloche pattern that made the ChronoMaster so successful.
To satisfy every desire, this most romantic of complications is available in rose gold with a brown alligator strap or in stainless steel in the black and white versions.
